// NETWORK REQUIREMENTS

Network Requirements for AI Tools

AI tools often rely on more than a single webpage. Login redirects, chat requests, file uploads, model responses, and image downloads may use different domains. If the homepage loads, only its assets are confirmed reachable. A full check means completing login, submitting a request, and receiving the entire response. VPNDZ provides international routes, but account eligibility, paid features, and regional policies are determined by each tool provider.

Region Availability: Check Official Requirements

Services may use your exit IP, account region, payment details, and organization settings to determine availability. A region shown in a route name doesn’t mean the tool accepts that exit IP or that your account meets local eligibility requirements. Check the tool’s official supported regions before choosing a route. If you see a region notice, save its exact wording and distinguish a network issue from an account eligibility issue—don’t rely on repeated refreshes.

IP Risk Checks: Keep Sessions Consistent

The reputation of a shared exit IP, unusual request patterns, frequent region changes, and repeated retries can all affect a platform’s risk checks. Sticking to one suitable route usually makes troubleshooting easier than switching regions repeatedly. A VPN connection can’t replace account security settings or guarantee that an exit IP will never trigger verification. If a verification page appears, follow the platform’s process; don’t try to automate your way around it.

Long-Lived Connections: Check That Responses Finish

Streaming responses arrive in chunks, making them more sensitive to connection interruptions than ordinary page loads. Route instability, local network changes, device sleep, or app timeouts can stop a response midway. Some tools also use persistent connections to report task status. Test with a normal response and wait for it to finish before checking file uploads or downloads. A fast-loading homepage doesn’t tell you how the full service will perform.

// TOOL TO ROUTE

AI Tools and Route Requirements

Use this as a route-selection checklist, not a fixed map of which regions to use. Platform policies and product entry points can change. Check the tool provider’s official guidance for supported regions and the VPNDZ dashboard for available routes.

CopilotA route that can reach both identity services and the target product’s APIsDistinguish Microsoft Copilot from GitHub Copilot; check organization permissionsAuthorization redirects fail, or the editor remains unresponsive after login
MidjourneyA route that can reliably reach task submission, status updates, and result filesYour current entry point, account entitlements, and image asset domainsTask page loads, but submission or result downloads fail
CursorA route consistently used by the app for model requests and streaming responsesIDE proxy settings, login callbacks, certificates, and model service endpointsThe browser works, but editor chat or autocomplete fails

IEPL, relay, and direct connections are route types, not AI platform authorization labels. Don’t judge suitability by the route type alone. Compare login, complete responses, and file operations on the same local network and for the same task. First choose a route that meets regional requirements and keeps the session consistent, then adjust app settings. Change one factor at a time.

// ACCOUNT SESSION

What to Check During Account Setup and Login

Keep your VPNDZ account separate from your AI tool accounts. VPNDZ requires no email address; create an account with a username and password. This requirement doesn’t apply to ChatGPT, Claude, or other third-party tools. Those services may require separate identity verification, eligibility checks, and paid subscriptions. VPNDZ plans don’t include third-party accounts or access to their models.

Before signing in, connect to a suitable route you plan to keep using, then open the tool. Keep the login page, identity provider callback, and target app on the same network setup. If browser authorization succeeds but the desktop app stays on a waiting screen, check whether browser settings, local security software, or app proxy settings are blocking the callback before assuming the account is invalid.

If a security check appears, don’t repeatedly submit the same request or switch between regions. Note the error message and check your system time, browser session, and account status. If needed, save your work before signing in again. Browser extensions can also block login scripts, so try a separate browser profile. For account restrictions or appeals, contact the tool’s official support team; changing routes isn’t a way to remove restrictions.

// WEB AND API

Web App vs. API Requirements

Web App

Web apps rely on browser sessions, login callbacks, scripts, and chat APIs. After the page loads, submit a normal request and check that the full response arrives. Browser extensions, cache issues, or site permission problems can look like route failures.

API Calls

API calls depend on endpoints, keys, project permissions, quotas, and request formats. Web subscriptions and API billing may be separate. First check whether the request reached the service, then use the response status to identify an authentication, quota, or network issue.

Streaming Responses

The client needs to read the response continuously rather than wait for all the text before processing it. Proxy buffering, read timeouts, and dropped connections can all stall output. When checking app logs, distinguish a connection failure from a response-reading failure.

A clear authentication or quota error from an API often means the request reached the server. Check the key’s project, permissions, and billing status. For connection timeouts, DNS failures, or TLS handshake errors, check the network path first. If you hit a rate limit, follow the server’s guidance and official retry rules; don’t retry without limits. A better connection won’t change platform quotas or request limits.

// DEVELOPER PATH

Command Line, IDE, and CI Configuration

Command Line: Check Which Route the Process Uses

A browser using the system proxy doesn’t mean terminal processes use it too. Check whether your SDK or command-line tool reads HTTPS_PROXY, HTTP_PROXY, or ALL_PROXY, and configure it according to its documentation. Use the proxy protocol and local port actually configured in your client—don’t copy someone else’s address. Also check whether NO_PROXY is unexpectedly sending the target domain outside the proxy.

After changing environment variables, running processes may not inherit the new values. Restart the relevant terminal or app. A localhost address inside a container points to the container itself, not the host machine’s proxy; remote development servers also have their own exit routes. Test from the actual environment sending the request, not just from your local browser.

IDE Extensions: Check App and Extension Settings

Editor features in Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and other tools may send requests from the main process, an extension process, or a remote environment. Check the editor’s network settings and extension logs to confirm which processes use the proxy. Corporate networks may also require trusted certificates and organization authorization. If you see a certificate error, verify the trusted certificate chain; don’t disable certificate verification as a fix. Save your work, restart the app after changing network settings, and test the same feature again.

CI: Local Connections Don’t Carry Over

CI jobs run on separate runners, so your local VPN connection won’t affect them. Check the runner’s region, exit policy, permitted endpoints, and how credentials are injected. Use your CI platform’s secret variables to manage credentials, and never print proxy authentication details to logs. If your organization has rules about data transfers or AI tools, get authorization before configuring the execution environment.

Record the environment, target endpoint, failure stage, and whether the proxy is active—not full prompts or credentials. This helps break down “the website works, but the code fails” into specific causes: the process bypasses the proxy, the endpoint is misconfigured, the account lacks permission, or a long-lived response was interrupted. For more configuration and risk checks, read the Complete Guide to Accessing AI Tools.

// FAILURE TRIAGE

Common Failures and Their Causes

The Page Won’t Load. Should I Switch Routes First?

First check your local network and client connection, then see whether other regular websites are reachable. If only the target tool fails, note the specific issue, such as a DNS failure, connection timeout, or certificate error. Once you’ve ruled out local issues, try another route that meets the tool’s official region requirements. Change one thing at a time and keep the original results for comparison.

You Can Sign In, but the Response Is Stuck Generating?

The issue could involve the chat API, a persistent connection, a local network change, or a busy server. Test again with an ordinary request that contains no sensitive information, and check whether the problem affects only file uploads or a particular model. Save your work before reconnecting, and avoid resubmitting API requests or generation tasks that could incur charges.

Browser Works, but Cursor or Copilot Still Fails?

Check whether the editor and its extensions use the intended proxy, whether a remote development environment has a separate exit route, and whether account authorization is complete. A browser test only checks the browser’s connection; it doesn’t verify the IDE connection. If logs point to permissions or organization policies, resolve the authorization issue instead of continuing to switch routes.

Unsupported Region or Extra Verification Required?

Check the officially supported regions, account eligibility, and current exit IP, then follow the platform’s verification process. The platform’s IP-based location may differ from the route label, and account or organization requirements can also affect the outcome. Don’t falsify identity details or try to bypass verification. If your account is restricted, use the tool’s official support or appeals process.

API Rate Limit: Will Switching Routes Help?

Rate limits may come from project quotas, request frequency, concurrent usage, or platform policies. Read the error details, check billing and project status, and use backoff retries as described in the official documentation. A different exit IP won’t increase your quota and shouldn’t be used to evade platform limits.

Tips for Choosing Routes for AI Tools

First filter by the target tool’s official region requirements, then choose an available route in the dashboard. Follow the same verification steps each time: sign in, submit a normal request, wait for the streaming response to finish, then test any uploads or downloads you need. For regular use, stick to a suitable exit route. If you need to switch, save your work, end the old session, and verify the new route. A homepage loading once doesn’t prove that every model and feature will work.

VPNDZ covers 110+ countries and 170+ routes, with support for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux. Unlimited devices can be connected at the same time. Device support doesn’t mean every app automatically uses the proxy; check browsers, command-line tools, and IDEs separately. A subscription is required to access the service. Download access depends on your dashboard. Get the client at Download the App.

Choose a plan to match your usage: monthly plans are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date; mid-cycle upgrades are prorated for the remaining days. Data packs are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB, used until depleted and never expiring. Pay with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT. A 7-day refund policy is available. Text chats, attachments, and generated results use different amounts of data, so a fixed number of conversations won’t reliably predict plan capacity.

Check route locations and types in Global Server Locations and Route Guide. For billing details and the full plan list, see Pricing. VPNDZ plans provide network connectivity through this service only; they don’t include third-party AI subscriptions, API credits, or account eligibility. Access to each tool still depends on its official policies and your actual connection.
